[PC] Play as a hunter

This has been posted before, but not answered completely. How do you adjust the hunter's biped so that it can wield:
1.) its fuel rod
2.) pick up MC-type objects; like grenades, sniper rifles, etc.

I read a post where someone enabled a hunter to ride vehicles, but he only posted the link to the mod (which is broken anyway). Also, how do you make them melee?
