Whats The Leading Graphics Card On The Market?

Post by shawnbleak »

Hello, my friend and I were wondering what the best video card is in the market today and where to buy it from. We just got new jobs and we're saving up to make an awesome computer so I was wondering if anyone knew what card is the best rather it be PCI, AGP, Or PCI Express. thank You.

This going in the Tech Questions Section, but I'll answer your question anyway.

PCI-E are the best in the market today. I would recomend getting a GeForce nVidea 8800GT. There currently about 600$, but are DX10, and PCI-E 16x.

Make sure that you get one which supports your computer. Most only hold either pci-e or agp. i have ATI All-In-Wonder x1900 and it works great.

I think they have an XFX GeForce 880 GTX now...but dont buy it unless your processor, mobo, and ram can support it...

I'm VERY satisfied with my 7950 GT...they can run around $250 and up, and it runs anything I throw at it with good framerates (BF2142, full resolution and full options except for AA, around 70-80 FPS).

But yes, the best GPU on the market is the 8800 series.

I haven't read the entire post so this my have been said already..

... Wait...

Wait just a bit longer, Direct X 10 will be coming out and, as of yet, none of the cards out now ( to my knowledge) are compatible with it

Direct X 9 ( Current)

Direct x 10

Based on those two pics. I think its worth the wait ;)

Yep, always worth the wait for new hardwhere, especially DX10. The water is so much mroe realistic, and so is the mountains, clouds and light comeing through.

ther is one series of card out that support dx10 these are the nvidia x8000 series. However the for the price it is reaLly pointless to buy one.

: DX10 will not be utilised for a while. Not even halo 2 pc is using it.
: This is the first series of DX10 cards therefore much better ones will come out.
:Also they are overpriced.

My advice buy a ATI x1950pro or XTX.
You can pic these up for about 150 Pounds , $300 dollars starting price.
Also make sure the card is PCI-Express and that u have a x16 PCI- Express compatible motherboard with support for crossfire ( 2 cards at the same time.)

If you have a good enough processor and sufficeint ram this card will play all your games up Top Top wack.

H2V is going to utilise DX10, and never get an ATI, there ok, but often overpriced and not as good quality as an nVidia, so I would go with a GeForce 7900GTX. Which is much cheaper than an ATI x1950pro, and much better.

it is? sorry my bad:P , well i read on a artical that it was only going to use dx9.

Graphics cards ATI or Nvidia? Lets face it they are both great companys niether one is bad. Buta x1950 has 10 more pixel pipelines than a 7900GTX and still more than a 7950GT. The rest of the specs are bout equal.

Pesonnaly i prefer ATI they are not bad quality card , there are only 2 chipset manurfactureres in the market and so they both have to be outstanding. I have had bad experiences with nvidia cards myself though the reason i prefer ATI but im sure other peopel have had problems with ATI cards.

Cheaper? in englad ATI cards are much cheaper than nvidia cards.

Well its pretty much the opposite here, the 7950 is about 250, and the x1950pro is like 300+, so thats mostly why I would choose the GeForce over ATI, also I've had bad experiance with the ATI cards, and never reall liked them.
