3ds Max help

Did you guys actually pay like 3,000 dollars for 3ds Max 7. My trial ran out but there is no way Im going to pay over 3,000 dollars for it. Someone please tell me what to do.

If your a student I have seen it for as little as $300-$700 depends on the time of year.
