D-Link router not working for xbox?!

I JUST bought this bran new 4 port D-Link 524 router and the only way my compter inter net will connet is if the ethernet cable from the modem going into one of the lan ports and the computer ethernet cable comes out form the lan port. BUT if I do it the supposed right way it wont connect. but what ever! BUT either way XBOX LIVE wont connect. and i went through and did the quick wizard and all that. can some on help me? maybe!

yea I once had a D-Link Router. but really 1. its suppose to be xbox compable. 2. if you cant do that just take the ethernet cord from the Comp. Montier and plug it in the xbox and get Microsoft to configure you xbox..

Well i know its compatible and i dont wanna spend the time unpluging and pluging the cable i did that for too long.. lol

THIS IS FOR PPPOE ONLY!
if you have a PPPOE you need to go to settings on the XB startup, then network settings, pppoe setting, turn it on. then go to your router settings and look for pppoe info. if you dont have a username or pass or service name leave all blank.

Iv done that already. I go into the trouble shooter and it gets the ip setting conigured but its doesnt get past the DNS servers.?!

i need help too i have a Belkin 2.4GHz-80211.g wireless router

also i have the same the ip is done that already. I go into the trouble shooter and it gets the ip setting conigured but its doesnt get past the DNS servers.?
