you may have noticed that I havent posted a gun model for a really long time. my last one was the german rifle. this is an m16 i made. i did find out how to use reference pictures in the viewports, and that made it all easier. i know there are some problems with it too. i think most of the errors are with the turbo-smoothing. other than that, the model is pretty accurate. my friend made one too, and we compared them. he posted his on turbo squid i think ( he doesnt play halo, loser lolz) i made this in 3ds max 9. you can use this, but give me credit (ill know if its mine, i made a tiny little model of my screen name, [XMG]Kodiak, and placed it on the m16. you can see it when you hold the gun if you look carefully). i modeled it by making half of it, then mirroring it, and then adding details. it might need to be scaled

Wow very nice M203 but the heatsheild should have some holes in it. But other than that, it's really good.

Lol. I forgot to triangulate...

wow, mac model injection sounds complicated. the only reason i would have to even look at the word triangulate is in 3ds max 9. PC users use something called HMT 3.5 to inject models. we push a button that say import model, and as long as it has the same number of indices and vertices, it injects perfectly.

Read a tutorial on model injecting I made. It's in my sig at the bottom. Yes it is complicated and we'll end this discussion by having me posting the finished model in the next post..

It looks a little too smoothed, but not bad.

it wouldnt let me render it with the texture on it. it doesnt look as rounded when it has the texture on.

If you're going to inject it into halo 2, Inject it then use the model resizer in entity or the program made by gg(I think).
