HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

This is the mainmenu music. It includes the 2 songs you can export using any of the Halo 2 tools there are and also the other songs that don't seem to be in the tag list. I extracted them all from mainmenu.map by hand(using a hex editor).

All are in .wma format.

The Main Menu music contains tracks not available on the soundtrack. WOO!


If by any chance could you extract the music from the credits screen? Especially that one that sounds like the beginning of Impend but then Steve Vai comes in and kicks ass.

Well, all you have to do is reformat them into the xbox ADPCM and inject them into the mainmenu of Halo. And if you are talking about PC/CE, I would imagine that it would be even easier.

I can't reformat it to an xbox ADPCM because the codec doesn't run on my flavor of Windows.

do you think you could get the music from the level The Heretic. You know like, right after you get into the banshee for the first time, that cool music starts playing. I love that music and would owe you so much if you got taht for me

Well if anyone gets them into Halo's Mainmenu I'll download, I am trying to get them into Halo right now but I will probably fail.

Thanks, but i don't use the file sharing programs because they are a constant virus vacuum. I'm pretty sure i can find it elsewhere. And if not, then well Hey, i'm getting a new CD

a xbox magazine came with a mechassault 2 live enabled demo plus free download of these songs from xbox live lol i like this song better then halo 1s
menu song(i know their about the same except this has a better rock sound to it.)

I have them converted, do I have to break them up into each "Chunk" because when I do I always get an Exception Error before it reaches the mainmenu. But If I only inject the "Track" file it plays for a few seconds but stops. How do I inject using HMT and make them work?
