hi guys this is my first attempt at making a new weapon. i dont have anyidea how to add it to my .scenario in sapien so if u guys can help with that i can get pics hope u enjoy (oh there is no read me because i dont know how to even use the tag srry)

oh i fogot to add that there is no collision-geometry because i couldnt figure it out some wierd tool error but helljumper said that it didnt need one so i delleted it

If you didn't have a collision model for your weapon it would fall straight through the map and then you can't pick it up. At least I think it does that for no collision model.

no it doesnt matter if theres no collision all that happens is you cant shoot the gun to make it spin....thats all

i dont know how to import it into my test map for pics i need help with adding the item collection because if i just place it and compile the map its not there ok can u help

set the weight to 200...

well if you want to import it you need to make an item collection for it
and then you can put it in your map with sapien
i made an item collection for u, just put in haloce\tags\item collections\single weapons
then in sapien under netgame equipment browse to your gun and place it on the map

just tried to build my cache file

just what i thought the model is crap (srry to say dawg) it doesnt compile
now my scenario file is wasted

thats why you just make a box for collision, it still spins, and yes it will fall thru if you dont have collision

what helljumper said... the collision model is only where you hit it. Think about it: when you have no collision model for the hog, it will drive thru a wall, but wont fall thru the map.

the hog will fall thru the level if it has no collision dude i tryed that with a vehicle, it fell thru, thats why i dont make vehicles too much anymore, lol they sorta hard to make collision models :P

yeah what helljumper said i forgot it wont spin

i have a model too but i dont know what to do with it. what should i do to make it wieldable and shootable and able to wack people in the face?
some guy said hms helljumper tutorial something or other but i cant find it

it wont fall cause i have made boxs test boxs for destrucable scenery and no it dont fall thru u can walk thru and drive thru it but it wont fall thru the map collision is what u need so mc and the hog/ghost cant drive thru it three to 1 not good chances and HMC helljumper model some more dude make some kick ass maps. halo 2 is dead till someone releases a editing kit for it!

collision geometry gets finicky if u use a model other than the model itself as your collision model. it doesnt really matter for weapons, but for scenery and bipeds its a big deal. Collision geometry is what follows the sealed world rules, so you have to watch for open edges in your collision model and stuff. But still, use the model itself as the collision-model. It works perfect.
