WIP - Verdance

The name isn't set it stone just yet, but Ive decided to make this a cove because I like cove maps =]
Ive always loved the wartorn cove maps and snowtorn cove just steals my heart.

Now, Ive got to make this more like a cove, that has a garden but its not going to be like a castle garden with the hedges but more like a custom, human like garden. It will have flowers and stuff in the main building, but it wont be overly exciting. This is a warzone, not a omg garden lets have a tea partay.

So, first off is im working on some textures, and here are some of them.

As you can see, this looks really dark, but I hope to be lighting this up a big and fixing up the bump maps, as I dont know at all how to do. Ive just been fiddling around with alphas, shaders and etc.
This is a screenshot of what the texture looks when theres a dynamic light (flashlight) on a certain angle.

That is one unrealistic bumpmap =/

Ive got to make the bumps lighter, yet still have depth but if you think you can help me give me a call!

Ill be posting in here, and I think Ive gotten betterish at bumps than my first build with this new texture.

That doesnt have any dynamic light, because heh there was no bumpmaps so they really do make a difference.

What do you guys think so far?

Im still yet to have designed the middle section, but Ill do it sometime on paper when Im really bored and I dont feel like doing homework.

Ill get some overview shots in a bit, but I think some of you guys have seen some of it. Right now, Im just getting the bases perfected and Im working a bit slow because of school and stuff.

Yea, Ill get that now, and there isnt a "map" yet, its just a base so far =p

Pretty simple layout for the base, theres a side passage from the lower area, and theres a passage to a sniping tower on the top and a main exit area.

And, heres some updates on the.. horrible bumps.

If anyone can help me do the bumps, atleast teach me i would give them an e-hug.


As, you can see I have been REALLY working on the bump maps, they are really pissing me off as they only work if you put a dynamic light one way.

Looks hawt from what i can see. But i cant see much of anything from those pictures.Theyre abit too dark

Yea, thats the textures fault partly.

I could higher my gamma and get some pics later.

*raises eyebrow* u said that this was a wartorn cove variant?
forget the bumpmapping i would like to c more of the map
i have poor gfx so bumpmapping matters little to me
