Well, this is to announce that the NOMINATIONS HAVE BEGUN for the March '06 Golden Grunt Awards!
The GGA is awarded to the best map in the following categories:
Best Overall Map
Best Idea (stuff that just didn't turn out right, but was brilliant to begin with)
Best Space Map
Best Recreation (as in one from another game)
Best Non-Halo Map (like all those sonic ones I keep hearing about...)
Best Small map

And also to the following:
Best Vehicle
-Flying
-Real-life recreation (doubt we'll have any this time around)
-Other
Best Scenery Piece
Best Weapon

The following requirements MUST be met by the map:
1. The map must be in a cache form by March 1st
2. The map must be nominated by February 28th at 11:59 PM EST
3. The map must not contain anything indecent (pron, etc)

Other than that, just nominate 'em now and we'll get the judges together for the final (you request a position as a judge here also)

Yah i know this isnt a rip off of my post i just think you will be overwelmed by all the stuff people will send you. BTW i'm not just saying this because it's in my post but the best small map ive played is desert_island. Somehow i got 4 people that had the map online at once, and it was a BLAST! (this will be deleted if you don't get a file up) And how did you get your sig to blend with the background of halomods?

I'll add the current nominations with the categories in bold, and on march 1st, I'll have polls up

Best Vehicle hands down is the bulldog from Chronopolis.

I haven't driven it yet!

I'de nominate my own Draco, but seeing as I'm one of the judges, It would be unethical. Not to mention, it won't be done enough by march 1st

If I can get my M16 properly finished before then, I'll enter

You would have to be nominated, but from the looks of it, that wouldn't be too hard

I'm thinking of getting Reaper to re-convert it but this time do the smoothing and such himself, so it's 100% perfect. Tabasco was having some trouble with the smoothing, presumable lost in the translation, I guess

Gonna try skin it myself when someone UVs it, that should be, erm, interesting...

Just another notice, any map in cache form can be nominated, that includes betas. Also, weapons and vehicles do not need to be in a map, they just have to be tagged and working. The tuturial map can be used for judging them in-game.

I nominate hugeass as the best overall map!!!!!!! but i cant decide if geting a award thats says your maps is a grunt is good hmmmm well go hugeass from tiamat i support you!!!

i must say : Trepidation BETA 8.

Personally, i don't think any custom vehicle is good. But the first one the "wowed me" was the Fighter Bomber from Hugeass. But as far as scenary......i have no clue! But i will give you something, I nomanate for best scenary, Bumpy Rocks by Sunny Sharma.
