BioHalo v1.1a Singleplayer Map

This map is a SINGLE PLAYER MAP. If you attempt to load it as a MP map, Halo will crash. To load it, open up the console and type "map_name biohalo" without the quotes. Additionally, to set a difficulty, start Halo CE in developer mode, and type one of the following commands into the console:

game_difficulty_set easy
game_difficulty_set normal (<--this is the default difficulty, by the way)
game_difficulty_set hard
game_difficulty_set impossible

Then use the map_name command and play this map on the selected difficulty.

Anyway, this is my test of single-player scripting and fundamentals. This project took about 2 months to complete, and that was just scripting and population. The BSP is the same BSP as biohalo_alpha4, my other multiplayer map (don't play it, it sux! :P), but with better textures and lighting. The gameplay is linear; it's impossible to get lost or take a wrong turn.

The only known issue is that the Flood encounter that spawns when you leave the building can cause dramatic losses in framerate. Kill of some flood infection forms to improve your framerate a bit.

First person to criticize me on using Linkin Park in this map gets it in the head; the music fits, and there are no lyrics. The Chief has NOT gone emo yet, so stay ontopic!

EDIT: Fixed the fuxed ending bug. To go into the tehnichal crap, I used (object_create_anew) to put the banshee back into its original place if it got knoced around during the fight. It turns out that if you (object_create_anew) a banshee while it's in or close to its initial position, it will bounce off of itself, because it's in two places at once, for a very short time. I fixed it by destroying it, sleeping the script for a short amount of time, and re-creating it. Now the game will finish.

Also, I added a checkpoint after killing all of the outdoor flood, and I knocked down the number of elites that spawn on Legendary.

:shock: That looks awesome. Sp on ce...Amazing! Release the code or tutorial on how to do it perhaps? :) By the way does this have all the SP features? Like misson checkpoints and all that stuff.

just finished playing it great job hope to see more. but one thing it reminded me so much of dawn of the dead, haha, mabye you should but some distrubed in there lol. anyway, awsome

heres what you need, more cover, more marines, a tank wraiths n stuff, flying banshees, new weapons, halo 2 if possible, grunts, jackals, more objectives its too short. how about find like demo charges and blow all the buildings so final cut scene is you flying away while the buildings explode, more textures it all looks to blan, but still i must say

it was amazing a real halo mission mp map that was lots of fun expecially being invincible n super jump lol

those rope ladders...GENIUS

Yeah that's mainly what I was going to say. It needs more action. Like some sniping the enemy, some Pelicans, longswords, though I can't tell you what to do. But if you want, I can give some suggestions about your next map.

whoa... i dont think any1 has ever made a sp map for halo. anyway u should really release a tutorial on how to do this stuff it would be awesome

they have...like area 53...stuff like that but nothing like this...no objectives and stuff BUT this one does xD!

These would all be good ideas for future maps (except for H2 weapons. AR > SMG :P), however, this one is fine as it is. This was a test of overything I learned about scripting, and a few things I'm still trying to grasp.

in the next map you need a kick ass battle between marines and covies that you get to fight in like mortars warthogs, mabye use the stationary hog turret. that'd be cool

nice map but i found one glitch. at the end battle kill everything then throw a grenade under the banshee so it falls off the edge. you will die. i dunno if its supposed to happen or what but its just funny.

It's supposed to happen. You don't die, but the banshee does. You're supposed to protect the banshee and make sure it's at least on the roof in working condition before you go into the little covenant "base" on the roof.
