PC: Easy- PSP,making textures more 3d

Post by Mikey_Man »

Yo,quite a few may already know how to do this but im gonna post this anyways cause there is nothing else to do....

Ok,i edit dds files by selecting the whole dds pic and copying it and pasting it into psp(paint shop pro) from ps(photoshop) :-P,too lazy to dl the plugin for psp or even look for it...
Anyways Take a good look at this,if you cant tell a difference your a tard
Image
Like it,hope so :-\....Anyways,open up psp and the dds file,have a the portion of dds file you want to mess with,a
nd look up in the "effects tab"

You should experiment with these options,looks kind weird if you go over board with the options given...Sometimes its kinda hard to tell the difference of change when your dragging the bar over,like shinyness and intensity...They both basicly brighten the pic.

Cheers for the info Mikey_Man I use PSP a lot at work. Haven't got a clue how to use Photoshop, all I know is it's more powerful than PSP. I'm pretty proficient with PSP however and probably regularly use 80-90% of what PSP7 can do. Just started to use PSP8 more at home.

By the way the DDS plugin that you're using for photoshop will work with PSP too, have tried it with PSP7 and PSP8 both can use Adobe plugins :). Go to
File -> Preferences -> File Locations and then the 'plug-ins' tab, and direct it to where you stored the plugins with PSP7. Just wack it in the plugins folder for PSP8.

What settings in the DDS plugin do you use when you save a image for injecting? I tried modding a ghost skin and saved it in;
DXT1 (no Alpha),
No MIP Maps.
Injected it back into BG with HMT and looked cool in Sparkedit but in the game it looks crap? Lots of bright dots all over it. Any ideas? Gonna try 'Use existing MIP Maps' next.

Thanks for the info as well,i click no mip maps,and i just save it,inject it and if it says the wrong dxt or w/e i save it again as a diff dss and try again..For some reason whenever it says it needs to be DXT 1,and i inject a dxt1 format dds,it doesnt work,so i just try them all till it lets me inject them :-P
But sorry,i dont know about the dots thing
