I shouldn't have to even post this. But recent stupidity on the forums forced me to. This is a tutorial on what you do when a topic is bumped, and has nothing that adds information or files to the specified topic.
What you should do when you realize that someone has bumped:
1. Stop, read what the person has to say, or if it is the origonal author. If they are adding valuable information to the topic, then the bump is ok. However if the bump is just a stupid comment like: "Wow! That r teh 1337 omfg waw!."
What you do when you see a genuine bump:
Use this:.
This button is what will prevent the topic from being repeatedly bumped. What this button is called is the "Report button". What this does is it sends a little message to the staff that flags that something is wrong in that topic.
When you push the button, there will be a little box where you can type things. In that box, you type the reason that you are reporting the topic.
2. Notify once to the bumper that they bumped the topic. Most of the time people do not know they are bumping an old topic.
Example:
Bumper: Oh waaw this mod is C001!
You: Please read the dates before posting, and don't bump.
3. Make sure that no one else has notified the person that they bumped, theres nothing worse than 10 people keeping a bump alive yelling at the bumper.
Things you do NOT do when you see a topic has been bumped:
1. Don't do this:
You: OMFG STUPID ASS NEWB DON'T BUMP OMFG THIS WAS LIEK 2 MONTHS OLD OMFG DON'T BUMP OMG!
Because it is just plain stupid, and you are just as nooby as them when you do this.
2. Don't tell the bumper 10 times over in separate posts in the same topic that they bumped.
3. Don't tell the bumper they bumped if someone already has. That just keeps the topic alive and bumps down other topics with newer, and more valuable contents.

Once again, I can not stress this enough, please, for gods sakes, use the report tool. They didn't put it there so you can just stare at it. They put it there to maintain a more fluent forum.
Again, the report tool looks like this: .
When you click it, you will be brought to a page where you type in why you are reporting the topic. When you are done typing, press "Submit", and it will message the staff that the topic has been bumped, is a major flame war, or is spam.
