Misc: Opening Ports for HaloPC

Post by Kurroda »

Some people ask why that other people cant see there room on halo pc when they make it and people say you need to open ports. but how do you go about doing that.

Well for starters your going to want to open you webbrowser type in the address bar your default gateway mine is 192.168.1.1 then you should be prompted for a user name and password i think the user name should be blank and the password should be admin but if not then you will have to find out your username and password after you have that you should be in your router settings, i have linksys router,on mine it says application and gaming yours may be differnt click that tab. now you should see some words like these

Port Range
Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable

if so your in the right place now you want to open the ports there is two ports to be opened.

ok in the first row in the appication box just give the port a name doesnt really matter what now in the start box type 2302 and in the end box type 2302 that is for the sever port leave it on TCP now for the IP you want to put the Sever ip you can find this buy setting up the game but before starting on the last step you should see the sever ip with the port number next to it now take the ip not the port just the 192.168.1.blank well it should allready have the 192.168.1. now you need to just put the last 3 numbers in now for the last port. on the second row your going to want to do the same thing as before but for the port the number is 2303 so the start should have 2303 and the end should have 2303 and do the same ip and just one thing i forgot make sure enable is checked on both save your settings and your good to go.

hope it helped it worked for me.

ide recomend www.portforward.com i used it, and it was a very simple walk through of how to do it (got to common ports and find halo and just follow what it says) but i guess this is good anyway..
