i tryed to do it to zanzabar and it said "the specified search string was not found" when i did the replace search in hex workshop are those only for burial mounds and if so what are the other ones?

I just did it for zanzibar. You probally didn't start at the top. Also, you need to "Replace all". You should fix that gabs, all instances of that need to be replaced to work.

Do the meta injecting of the changed formats with ADI. CH2R always seems to give me errors. Oh, you can just use Paint to make the textures, then download "The Compressonator" and convert it to DXT.

i have no option on to start at top when i press ctrl+H it looks just like his screen shot and i clicked up on the directino instead of down and it did the same thing so i dont know whats up and i dont have it were it says replace all instances either

ok sry i was extracting the bitmap instead of the .meta file its working now but one thing THIS TAKES SO FREAKING LONG TO EXTRACT THEN PAINT THEN SAVE THEN INJECT THE BITMAPS theres 112 of them for zanzabar and it takes a while or am i being a noob and i dont have to do all those if not how do i do it faster??

Ok cool. This is basically the same process I used to do the new lightmaps in Hangem In Hell (which helped that mod kick a lot more ass by the way. I had known this process of changing the bitmap DXT type, but didn't realize I could do it for light maps until thinkreddie told me it was probly possible).

I haven't tried this for Halo 2 yet, but from the tutorial it looks like the images get garbled pretty bad. I'm assuming this is because they are an unknown image type, but if SW IronForge or XIU get it figured out then we can probably get the lightmaps without so much distortion. Which means that as of now we can basically only make a level's lightmap one shade of darkness (like the original lightmap tutorial by what's his name-can't remember at the moment).
