Misc: How To Use A PPF File

Since I get alot of emails of people asking how to use ppf's, I will make this a sticky:
here is our "how to use a PPF patch" tutorial
This tutorial is for the Xbox, but using PPF's for HPC is pretty much the same, excpet for the location of your cache files. They are in your halo directory in the folder 'Maps'.
To make one, get the tool from

I understand how to apply a ppf, but i dont know how to make one from something i changed in hex.

m.a.c. you can use PPF Studio to make a ppf.

ppf's can be applied to any file.. (probably even to themselves, correct? ) just because they are offset switching files.. nothing more then that.. course thats all a computer is.. numbers 0-f but it might get a tid bit complicated...
how do you install a ppf patch or mod????

hello,
i wnated to ask that how do you install a ppf file i mean i am trying to figure it out and i cant and the information about how to install it is not that useful so i wanted to ask that if anyone out their can give me the step by step instructions!!!
PLEASE HELP PEOPLE HOW DO YOU INSTALL A PPF FILE, I NEED A STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION!!!!

I'm into making things fun.. So you need to put the steps in order (just look for the numbers on the left, 1, 2, 3, ...)
4. In the top line, click browse on the right and go to view: All Files
1. Get PPF-o-matic from this site
http://www.halomods.com/downloads/pafil ... file&id=49
6. In the bottom line, find the ppf and click the create button
2. Download the ppf you want
5. Select the map
3. Open ppf-o-matic
7. Play the map!!

Just get Helpful halo hacking tool (HHT) to apply the PPF files simply.

Why don't you just use PPF-O-Matic 3? It is much much easier.

hht (i dont personally think its helpful) can apply more then one at a time
