Actually, the blending options used to make it are quite confusing. No offense, but you have no reason to talk, because I doubt you could come up with that style if your life depended on it...
i just lost all respect for you.
where did i ever say it would be easy to duplicate yours? and im not even talking about duplicating.. im talking about how it was done. why would i want to come up with that style? even if i did, it would just be copying you anyways. i would rather try tomake my own style

Well, to start off:
PNG saves images with better quality. Since Photobucket is down, I can't see your orb, but I'm assuming it was saved as a GIF.
GIF saves images with worse quality, but it can show transparency for all web browsers. PNG transparency is not supported in Internet Explorer. So you have two options on making your image look better:
1.) Open up the PSD file of your orb, and save it as a PNG.
2.) Open up the PSD file of your orb, and go to File > Save for Web. Set the save mode to GIF, and make sure Lossy is set to 0 and colors to 256 or whatever the highest number is.
All of the highest settings (except for lossy) will generate a higher quality image. The higher quality, the higher the file size (unfortunately). You can reduce the number of colors when you save as a GIF. This will reduce the file size when saved, but also the quality of the orb itself.
I hope this helped!

Ok, here's my entry. I might get rid of the glare and just go with the choked look since the white cresents seem to just get in the way. Might also rearange the letters. anywho...
gif wasn't my first choice, but png just wouldn't get it down past 10k.
Here's the original 140 pixels version too.
I originally had a drop shadow on it too, but lost it in an attempt to make it a smaller file size.
