Misc: Hexing Halo CE to Halo PC/ Halo PC to Halo CE

First your going to want to get your hands on a hex editor i am using Hex workshop. now open the map you want to convert i am going to do wizard so open the halo pc and halo ce map of wizard in hex workshop remember which is which.

this is what is should look like.

thats is the halo pc map the other is halo ce now you want that top area

this is the halo pc map now go to your halo ce map looks for somthing similar that looks like that highlight it and hit paste hit yes then save dont make a back up and there you go it should now be converted.

do the reverse for halo pc to halo ce.

hope it answers some questions.

its way easier then using the tool to convert i think i always get problems with the tool

Hay I like your tut and everything but Im a slight noob to hex editing. So I dont quite understand your tut. My question is what exactly do you copy and paste and do you delete the old. Also the maps im trying to convert is hypothermia V1.0 and I just took gepherobia. Will that work because in that tut you took both wizardpc and wizardce. I mean I dont quite see the purpose of converting the same map. Thanks, Any help would be great.

Ok nobody seems to understand what Im aming for here. I want to be able to make a ce map playable in halo pc. So it shows up in the maps selection and you can play. Because I cant seem to be able to do a lan with ce but i can with pc so i need to convert them all. And ive followed the tutorial to the best of my ablility and it dosnt work. So can somebody write a better tutorial doing what i need it to do. Or prove to me that this tut does work by emailing me a halo ce map that will play in pc if i put it in there.

Yhe tutorial and the "map convertor" only convert the map type reference number, so that the map fools HMT into opening it.

Theres no CE to PC map conversion for full maps......
