So, I just pre-ordered Halo Wars...

and I am happy as can be. The game looks great. I am currently playing Endwar and I am enjoying it so I assume Halo Wars will let me continue a great RTS experience. I also happened to have pre-ordered the Limited Edition version from Wal Mart.com so I will not only be receiving the Mythic Map pack and the Honor Guard Wraith but I will also be getting the Flame skinned Warthog. Downside is that I gotta wait about 8 days after it comes out to get my copy. Downside of pre-ordering from wal mart.com. So, who else has ordered it and who wants to get it?

I'm still undecided at this point. I LOVE Halo and I LOVE RTS games, so obviously this has my interest... I just can't believe they could ever make a good RTS using a gamepad as a controller. This is 90% of why I will wait for the demo!

im really undecided about this game, it does look "ok" i guess, but as mx said RTS on gamepad, i don't know how this will pan out. I didn't really like End War.

Yea but Ensemble has been known to make some pretty good RTS games. I think the game looks fun so far in the gameplay videos.

Yeah, any RTS made by Ensable will be good. Also, you get 6 special cards that can turn the tide of battle. Some examples Ive read of the ones that come with the game are calling in a MAC cannon to take out a Scarab and stuff like that. The LCE comes with 6 extra ones

Why would they be trying to piss us off? and what makes you think it will be bad other than Bungie didn't make it...I think it's gunna be a great game but I wont bother with the pre-order. Games never sell out now a days anyways

Reviewers already are getting this game, in which case... If you have a reviewer friend I suggest you piggyback him/her(rarely) if you want to play it early.

So did i, but if you check the official HALO WARS site; on the second paragraph of the main page, it states:
'...In addition, the recently announced Xbox LIVE public demo for “Halo Wars” will be available beginning on Feb. 5 at 2 a.m. PST in Xbox LIVE enabled regions worldwide...'

Isn't it supposed to come with 3 mythic maps? Wouldn't that mean the mythic map pack comes out before HW does???

No, with the Halo Wars LCE you get the Mythic Mappack (Part 1 of 2) 3-4 weeks earlier than marketplace buyers.
