WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
At least that's what I heard its not a FPS (first person shooter) like Halo 1-3 its a freaking RTS (real time strategy) which would be O.K. if halo had army men (I know its a war and probably has marines but I mean classic WW2 Army Men) or medival warriors and knights But Halo dosen't have those also if u made a 3 shooting games that were incredabliy succsesful would u suddenly change change it to a strategy game and have made by a different company?
Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
That's rather short sighted especially since you haven't played it

Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
So apparently, only knights, warriors, and army men from World War 2 can be in an RTS...
Ok...
Bungie decided that the Halo storyline would end. Therefore, the next Halo game they could make would have to take place before the other ones, or in addition to the other ones(i.e. Halo 3: ODST)
Ensemble Studios apparently wanted to make a Halo game, and they wanted an RTS, instead.
Just a guess.
Like, ask some legitimate questions that make sense, and I'll be much more successful in responding.

If you mean when it was announced, late 2006.
Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
I thought it was that that story ark ended, the one following Master Chief and his story of saving Humanity from the Covenant and the galaxy from an awesome (but deadly) explosion of complete, total, cosmic annihilation.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Bungie decided that the Halo storyline would end. Therefore, stories chronologically following Halo 3 could be made into games; they just wouldn't be on saving Humanity from the Covenant and the galaxy from an awesome (but deadly) explosion of complete, total, cosmic annihilation.

I'm rather certain that they referred to it as story arc, thereby referring to the Halo story as a whole.[IA]Paul wrote:I thought it was that that story ark ended, the one following Master Chief and his story of saving Humanity from the Covenant and the galaxy from an awesome (but deadly) explosion of complete, total, cosmic annihilation.
But I've seen Tural repeat this to many a user. I'd wait for him to find this thread and clarify.

Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
I could debate you on the story arc, but I'm in middle school english and we're not really defining things like "story arc" down to specifics, so I'd probably just sound like an idiot.
Nevertheless: I think a story arc is referred to not as a "story" but a "story arc" because it's the story as a whole.
There, now I most likely sound like an idiot.

1 the question is rehotorical
2 the game is basicly green vrs purple (they ran out of colors or something)
3 I respect your opions please respect mine
4 3 great games created by bungie that have a huge number of fans why change the game type and company
5 no STORY

So, basically, you made a topic in which nobody was supposed to respond to what you said.antrutan wrote:1 the question is rehotorical
Ok.
My god. Go look at the Pictures thread, where I posted a picture of a red vs. blue image of them battling.antrutan wrote:2 the game is basicly green vrs purple (they ran out of colors or something)
And if colors dictate to you whether the game is of quality or not, then you don't deserve to play any.
Feel free to share a legitimate opinion.antrutan wrote:3 I respect your opions please respect mine
For funsies?antrutan wrote:4 3 great games created by bungie that have a huge number of fans why change the game type and company
At least LOOK at what I posted.
Not to mention, maybe Bungie wanted a Halo RTS to be made, but felt that Ensemble would be better suited to develop it.
Well, at least you took the time to play the game and see if this was correct.antrutan wrote:5 no STORY
I'm having trouble responding any further without using diction that would temporarily expel me from the forum, so I'll stop there.
But seriously, think. That's all I'm saying. THINK.

Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
I heard my name.
The basic explanation for the story after Halo 3 is that it's done with this story. If the story of Master Chief saving the planet and humanity from the Covenant, and later, the Flood was written in a book, Halo 3 would be the concluding chapter. Halo isn't done, just Master Chief's basic storyline that we've come to know is done. There's plenty left for them to explore in the Halo universe, but right now Master Chief is taking a break. Another good example of what they mean by 'this is the conclusion of this story arc' is what Rooster Teeth did with Red vs. Blue. They repeated many times that the latest season was the end of The Blood Gulch Chronicles. Later, they release a new series, Reconstruction, which is taking place in the same story, with the same characters, but has an entirely different plot, for the most part. The story of the Red Army vs. the Blue Army and seeking out Omega is over, they went on to face a new threat. Elements are tying the stories together, but the core of the new series is entirely different. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this anymore. Basically Master Chief saved humanity and stopped the Flood, and the conflict with the Covenant has been resolved, the next stories they tell about Master Chief (If they continue with him, as opposed to picking up other characters in the Halo universe) will not be about the aforementioned topics. The Flood is done, the Covenant are not at war with humanity anymore, etc.
This all just feels like rambling. It makes sense to me, but I don't have the words to explain it. Just take it as the major, key topics of the Halo story we played in Halo 1/2/3 are resolved now.
Yeah.

Quite old news, and there's been plenty of discussion which you could read up on before making an uninformed post such as you're doing.antrutan wrote:At least that's what I heard its not a FPS (first person shooter) like Halo 1-3
That's an incredibly closed-minded approach to real time strategy games. Apparently Starcraft is also a horrible, horrible game because it isn't set in WW2 or the Middle Ages.antrutan wrote:its a freaking RTS (real time strategy) which would be O.K. if halo had army men (I know its a war and probably has marines but I mean classic WW2 Army Men) or medival warriors and knights
It isn't being changed. Imagine if you read three books on a story, and then a movie came out explaining a different part of the story. I don't have a much better analogy than that off the top of my head, so work with me here. It isn't like you're undoing the previous work, you're just taking an alternate route to explain certain parts of the story in a way that's fresh to the reader and will encourage other people, who may like movies more than books, to go take up those books for more information.antrutan wrote:if u made a 3 shooting games that were incredabliy succsesful would u suddenly change change it to a strategy game
See my above analogy, I think it fits quite well here too. The writer isn't going to be directing the movie, they have their own forte.antrutan wrote:and have made by a different company?
Irrelevant, because this is a forum. You wouldn't be posting with no intention of discussion. The question is not important here, you're just arguing semantics with this.antrutan wrote:1 the question is rehotorical
This isn't even a valid point. Furthermore, the majority of the genre is like that, but after your previous comment, I'm not at all surprised that you don't understand the RTS genre in any way.antrutan wrote:2 the game is basicly green vrs purple (they ran out of colors or something)
Obviously you don't, else you wouldn't be downplaying them. Furthermore, as was stated, it's easier to respect your opinion when you actually make a valid point instead of just making baseless claims and then telling people not to disagree with you. Show me where your opinions were "disrespected" and where you showed "respect" for anyone else's, please.antrutan wrote:3 I respect your opions please respect mine
I addressed that, so I'll save my breath here.antrutan wrote:4 3 great games created by bungie that have a huge number of fans why change the game type and company
Ignorance, pure and simple. You have made absolutely no attempt to educate yourself on the subject, so please refrain from making further nonsensical posts until you have done so, if you wish to have a legitimate discussion on this board (Although it doesn't appear you do).antrutan wrote:5 no STORY

Re: WTF? This is not even made by Bungie
Well from the trailers that have come out, this game starts with humanity taking back Harvest and it counties i think all the way to the fall of Reach. So this game will cover all the pre Halo content but be in RTS form so that makes it more appealing to me but from what i saw of the trailers it could have mad a bad ass FPS also.
