this is my first level design and i started working on it today in my 3ds class i have so far only put about an hour and thirty mins into it but my computer will be up and running again soon and i will be able to continue in my own time. so far this is what i have
you may remember way back when UNSC International and it was scrapped...well im doing it solo now and restarting. this is a front shot of the roadway and control tower/lobby i havent gotten to detailing the buildings yet just playing with some light shaders right now the models come later... i added some motion blur to the shot yes the road has a UVW map on it but the control tower base does not so do be so picky lol.
the glass doesnt have support structures in it yet so dont ask im still working on it i wont be done with it till prob may or so. and the ground isnt complete yet i needs to add in the grass and finish the parking garages as well as the stores on the concourse. i didnt show that part yet because it is not skinned and doesnt look too appealing right now, but time will show it.
leave some comments and ideas about how to further improve on this, my professor was like "how long have you been working on this" i told him the time and he says "keep it up looks like it will be amazing"

i did because i was rendering it out and the shades of the textures came out all wierd...the ground texture uvw map isnt complete i just added a quick one i need to measure it all out but im probably going to convert to editable poly and map it properly onto the face. same with the rest but i did it cause i have 2 versions.
i have multiple versions with different tests on it but when i was rushing out last night this was the version i rendered. i have one with no uvw maps or textures...aside from that lets see how it alll turns out in the end...

I hate to break it to you, but people here, people much more experienced in the subject matter, are going to give you opinions polar opposite to that of your teacher.
I really don't like it. It's a messy render with no focus, and all the textures and lighting draws attention away from the model. It looks very simply done, everything lacks any real detail. Your biggest problem is as Veegie listed, you shouldn't be doing your textures before you're even done modeling.

a bit boxish? and if you want it in ce, is it one piece or several different pieces? just get rid of all the backfacing polies or you going to have a horrible time getting it into ce. and i agree with tural...
