[WIP]StarGate[Update: 9/15/07]

wow i got some free time. this isn't really what the skin is going to be but you get the idea. i really don't plan on putting it ingame tho cuz i'm going to make a really high poly so i get every details that's in the real one. the activated portal is the reference photo i was using so =P i you thought i made it...if you want me to get it ingame i could cuz right now it's just the basic form of the stargate so it really doesn't have high poly....
my plan:
im bored so this is my plan. im going to go in and make every tiny details such as the carvings and letters.
give me your comment on what it looks so far.
ok i added a few or 10 of the 39 symbols...
update: i finished the enscription of the keys that is used to locate the planets etc.

I really wish you could put it in game and then make it the model for the teleporter.

srry if it's a double post but i have to leave soon so i need to hurry.
ok i got some new high res pic of the stargate so i remade it. so far i got the basic shape down now im going to work on the enscription.

Stop uploading images to HM. Upload them to photobucket or imageshack. It just wastes bandwidth.
Also, the gate is okay, texture looks low-res and unrealistic.

i'll stop but read at the top (first post) it's only a temperary texture.

If you're modeling this in 3ds Max then why don't you post a clay render? Or at least get rid of the textures. They deter from the modeling.
Also, read this tutorial. It shall help you on clay rendering and posting WIP threads.

Here are some renders of a near-perfect model (model isn't mine, the renders are). There are some key details you're missing.
Depending on what you plan on doing with the model, the carvings in the naquada can be better left to bump maps.

Thats awesome you should swap it with the teleporter scenery on a map and make that what a teleporter looks like, then make a complete stargate themed mod, Awesome!

First Ver. not alot of detail on it yet....
