As you can see from the first 3 images, there will be a low-visibilty sandstorm-like effect. Images 4-9 are just to show you around the map. There would normally be a sandstorm effect like in the first 3. We are still in alpha, so a lot, if not most of the things shown will change or be removed. The idea of the map is to use the normal weapons and vehicles in a low-visibility map. Even though there is a Bloodgulch base there, we are using our own bases. It is only temporary. Cryticfarm and I are looking for help. Most of it we can handle ourselves, but we will need some general help along the way. This is my first CE map (don't know about crytic) and cryticfarm doesn't know everything. We will need help beta testing LATER. We are still in alpha and will ask for beta testers when we get to beta. So don't ask to be in now.

The story of the map is that there was a small covenant civil war going on here a while ago. The desert is what remains. The humans then created 2 bases in the desert. You can only find human weapons/vehicles at the bases (minus one exception) and only covenant weapons/vehicles out in the desert.

To-do list:
.Make level slightly larger
.Improve sandstorm appearance
.Add sandstorm wind sound
.Create/add custom bases
.Change walls to have fence on 3 sides (need help making the fence) and caves in the side of the 4th wall
.Minorly tweak weapons (MINOR TWEAKS)
.Repopulate map after replacing temporary BSP with final one

Needing help with:
.Having the sandstorm effect block out the sky so that it is everywhere (it cuts off after a certain point)
.Modeling/adding fence
.We really need a better image for the ground. Our current sand looks like cheese. Can someone send us some good sand textures? The ones on HaloMaps weren't very good.

It looks pretty neat. I might be able to help with the sand texture.

The weather particle effect is in there, but I couldn't create the density needed for the map. All it can do is make the sand fly by, not block anything out.

Looks cool.

For the sand textures, I found some, try em-

Gritty

Wavy but no color (maybe you could add some)

Might add a little "height" and unevenness to the ground

Realistic, but probably not tilable and it has some little yellow numbers in the bottom right corner :P (Maybe you could crop the numbers off, and then crop somemore to make it 256x256) (And you could use Xfader to make it tilable, maybe)

Maybe you can find some use for those. Good luck on your map!

Well I'm part of this project as well. Just to tell you Xander, Yophoo(Forgot how to spell his name), and I are recruited members. And xander, there is a way to make it cut off, it in the .sky tag.

Thank you and I thank warlord letting me use his sandstorm effect despite the fact that he keeps nudge bombing me then blocking me.
