A True Halo 2 Graphics Comparison

You guys remember the
Gamespot article on H2V's graphics right? Anyone else think it was rather biased? I thought so, so i spent a bit of time comparing a small part of the beginning of the campaign, using the Xbox and pc version of the game.
Judge for yourself.

Well i'm guessing those images are not directx10.

The thing is, is that Halo 2 vista uses higher resolution textures doesn't it? While I agree gamespots comparison was horrible (if the game looked that dull, blurred and pixellated I'd never have bought it), but by you resizing the image, it kinda gets rid of the extra high definition detail that was added...
However, I don't really know too much as I don't have h2v.

In all honesty, the quality lost by downscaling is a lot less than the quality lost by upscaling.

Maybe because Halo 2 doesn't use DirectX10.

Honestly i can not tell that much difference between them..maybe some slight changes but ya.

ever thought that the bluryness from halo 2 on the xbox is from their tv?(not to you guys but the one that wrote the article)they might/are the same if you play halo 2 on an hdtv format and in the 4 years sense halo 2 first release technology advance so it could be better now cuz of better technology.

...wow. I JUST noticed how horrible and old-looking Halo 2's graphics are. Never thought I'd say that, I remember seeing it three years ago and shouting "ZOMG L33T GRAFFICKS MAN!!1!1!" Now it's poo.

to me halo 2 looks fine. its somewhat lame to have sharpness if your not getting any extra "detail" ugh... I mean model wise...
