{WIP}H3 assualt rifle model/skin

k well this is a completley new remake of my h3 assualt rifle.
so basicley th ediffrence is:
i modeled it
uv mapped it with the help of misfit modeler
skinned it diffrentley

if u have any suggestions or comments please post

and now here is the picture of it:

I hate to sound like an ___, but that model is a mess. The exterior (with the exception of the skin), looks fine, but wireframe views are downright scary. My suggestion? Try to clean up the model so you don't have so many unneeded polygons.

this is for pc i cant delete polies or it will be uninjectible.

It needs to be longer and have a longer barell (sp?).

That skin is not very good. It looks like all your textures are just noise modifiers. :|

What version of Photoshop are you using? And we use the same windows skin. =) As for the model; it could use a lot of work. It doesn't really have the Halo 3 'feel/look' I guess.

its v5 not super positive but what does that have to do with noise?

looks like you used the original assualt rifle as the starting model. and the same skin kinda just a bit of editing. but i have a question.

doesn't having more polys make the item more smooth with out smoothing groups? cuz in one of the 3ds max example of why the new one is better than the 3ds max 8 version and there was a ____ good looking dragon head and when he went to vertex the whole thing just turned blue lol now that's over excessive poly. but shouldn't having more make it smoother and a bit laggier in game depending of your ram and gfx card?

That made no sense what so ever.

But I think you're saying more pollies = smoother, but more lag. Depends how many on smoothness and lag.

Safe to say, keep it low and smooth, because without smoothing, you'll see all the individual faces, no matter how many faces you have.

dude whats noise is it a skinning program? i was google searchin i and it said it was a filter...
