Yes, as the title suggests, I'm modeling a Clarinet.
I'm only doing this because:
a) I enjoy modeling
b) I want to learn to UVW unwrap. (better)
c) I want to learn to skin. (as a first)
I'll be updating this thread as I get new parts done.

Think you can compress the images so they aren't so close to a MB each?

Looking good so far

If you put in as much effort as you did in this post it'll turn out great.

Yes I can. I'll save them as jpeg from now on.
Edit: I just finished compressing all the images and am going to re-upload the new ones.
BTW: Thanks Sgt. Peppers.
Off Topic: The model is so high-poly because it's going into a source game, not Halo.

Well this sub forum isn't labeled as "Halo". That and I didn't think it was against the rules to post something none-Halo related.

It's not, and I'll allow* it just despite Dootuz.

Ok, I can help you because I actually play the clarinet. The bell looks a little too thin at the end and can you actuallly believe reeds cost about 3$ each, that adds up. Other than that good model, Be sure to get its 25 keys correct which will be hard.

Thanks, but I play Clarinet as well and only use 1 reference picture since I have each piece in front of me. Also, the bell is actually a bit to thick.
@ the reed price comment: Mine are only $1.50 a piece. (school prices drop is to 1/2).
Also, just curious, but what strength reed do you play (and what brand?)

Reed= Vandoren paris and 2.
I meant thin by not very wide

I play either:
a) Vandoren 3 1/2
b) Mitchell Lurie 4.
Corvette19 wrote:I meant thin by not very wide
As in wide you mean the bells width as a whole isn't wide enough? If that's what mean then it is wide enough.

It may be a good model, but why would you want a clarinet in Halo (@ Dootuz). It just doesn't make sense.

Which is why it's going into CSS as a knife replacement. GMod as a crowbar replacement, and just a prop.
