Help: meh not much

well, in my spare time, which isnt plentiful, i have created a beta model of my very own custom battle rifle. i made it all in Misfit, and since there is no smooth tool thing, it turned out bad. i guess. i would relly appreciate a person who can tag this for me. i could release a map. anywashere it is...

He's posting on a public forum, he is subjecting himself to anything that fits within the rules.

Look up some tutorials, that's not worth the time to tag it. Go into art studio, and look at the sticky : gun modelling for dummies.

like what, cant use milkshape and cant affrord 3ds max. anyway forget this, i already said delete this, and i didnt have much time to work on this, i just wanted to see it ingame...

id say its pretty good for milkshape better than what i would expect from most people using milkshape.

Considering the thread is about tagging the weapon, not asking for constructive critism, then that would be spam as it doesn't pertain to his subject. But seeing as how I did the same thing, I dunno exactly why I'm posting this. lol.

ceberus0, definantly go for gmax, it's completely free. A hundred times better then milkshape, and you can do smoothing groups in it, seeing as you were having trouble with that. You can get it from utrbosquid or go into the art studio, I think there's a link for the download there. Once you get good with gmax, you could also try downloading the 30 day trial for 3ds max. I'd say wait till you're better though, so you don't waste a month learning to make stuff, but rather can use the program to a further extent and make things more worthwhile.

well, i already have GMAX, but i have bot the faintest idea how to use it. the most i have done is made a small deformed teapot with the create teapot tool... :?

So uh, learn some more? 3ds max tutorials can apply pretty well to gmax, not all the tools are there but you should get the basic idea. I shuold just learn gmax and make a friggan tutorial for christs sakes.

well no one has to, unless they want to. but anyways, lukeimia, i found a tut on making custom weapons in GMAX, and im starting to get some of it. i converted this pos into a .3ds mesh. now i have to slap a texture on it, put all of the nodes, :? , and like do other stuff. so all i can say is, thanks lukeimia.

and lukeimia says"No problem!, idiot!"

Ask jsk to mac inject it, it will get ingame without really needing to be tagged.

o yeah, forgot about jsk,but i dont know, he hasnt gottrn back to me on that double mionigin thingy i sent him. anyways, ill pm him about it.
