Please Note: This is not just a set of maps for Halo CE, it is also going to be a game and we are actively working on a suitable engine that should match or exceed the capabilities of Halo.

Earth has long been forgotten by the people of the Confederation of Socialist Planets. Peace is present throughout the New Outer Colonies, but war breaks out in the Old Inner Colonial Planets. The New Light, an alliance of rebels who fight for a government like those of old Earth, a treasured memory only they strive to keep, has sparked battles accross the galaxy. A once-loyal citizen of the CSP-controlled planet Gomorrah, you have had your life destroyed by the corruption of the communist confederation. You have seen the efffect the New Light has had on the world of the CSP. You are a freedom fighter. You are a revolutionist.

New Light Advanced Infantry Armor

The thing that looks like an errection has been fixed. Do not ask questions about it.
Concept and Model by: SamNwck
Team: New Light
Unit: Infantry
Colors: "Snow", "Duststorm", "Rainforest" camo skins

Works In Progress
Seeing as we are making an entire game with a full campaign, we will be needing many more biped models. The following is a list of planned characters that should be completed within the next month or two, depending on scheduling
+ CSP Infantry Unit
+ CSP Sniper
+ NL Artillary
+ Assorted cutscene characters, based on storyline
+ CSP Guard
+ CSP Crewman

Image
Recreational Hoverbike
Image
This light hovering vehicle carries up to two people and is great for traversing long distances of rough terrain.
*Render updated

Works in Progress
"Rhino" Hovercraft
Image
This hefty transport carries up to 8 people and is used to bring troops onto the battle field.
It's mounted machine gun makes it ideal for heated battles.
This vehicle should be concepted within a few weeks.

Troop Transport
Image
This dropship carries troops over intraversable terrain and right into the heart of enemy lines.
With it's vertical takeoff capabilities, it can quickly drop troops, supplies, and fresh rations and then leave the battlefield without risking attack.
This vehicle is in the process of being modeled

"Trafalgar" Battle Crusier
Image
This ship is the most important asset to the New Light. It gives the rebels a method of transportation between different systems and also allows for a headquarters for their tactical decisions.
This has been modeled, but I am having trouble finding the render.

Image
Our maps will include dusty old outskirts cities, forests on the edge of the galaxy, and frozen wastelands on distant planets.
Currently we have one near-completed test map that has been designed for multiplayer.
Contour
Image
The above image is an older alpha snapshot taken from my laptop. I will have a better image up in about an hour.
This secluded landform houses a rebel base, but the CSP has come to destroy it.
Try not to fall off.

City Streets
Image
This map is being concepted and modeled right now by BobTheGreatII, the image is old.
Roam the city streets and find the enemy patrols.
Trivia: This map is planned to be used in the trailer we are working on

Dustbowl
Image
This map is currently only an idea and has yet to produce viable concept art
This old city has seen the effects of war more than any other. The streets are filled with debris and the inhabitants have fled.

We should have more concepts for other maps soon.

Chaos is a first person shooter engine that I am actively writing for Entropy.
The engine will include all the necessary graphical elements - including bump mapping.
Chaos is being written using the XNA Framework, so once completed, Entropy will be a working Xbox 360 title.
If all goes well, the engine should have more features than Halo's. The only problems I foresee are those with scripting campaign maps and AI. Creating a mutliplayer engine is a simple task and I already have a working test game.

Image
This project is the result of the work of the Oasis Games team.
The team is:
Me (Bacon), BobTheGreatII, Jarocks, Lieukemia, PainTrane, SamNwck, TJ117
TJ hasn't be able to help much in the past few weeks because he just recently moved into a new house.
Bob and Lieukemia are our primary weapon modelers.
Sam made Contour
PainTrane made nearly all of our weapon concepts.
Jarocks pays to keep our website up, and he is writing the game's campaign storyline.

Image
Entropy will be both a set of multiplayer and campaign maps for Halo CE and a standalone Windows / Xbox 360 game. We currently have a biped, tons of weapons, and plenty of ideas. Our storyline involves communism, a rebellion, and intergalactic travel (plus the destruction of the Earth by a terrorist group in the 22nd century). We have plans for vehicles, characters, and tons of multiplayer features. Entropy should be completed by the end of the year, but we are allowing for some changes in the schedule.

Asis, and my laptop experienced.. er.. problems a month ago. Lost the HDD.
I may pick it back up later from the map file, if it's still here...

If you're referring to the large bird's-eye-view of Contour: That's a really old ground texture as viewed without detail maps.
If you are referring to the other images: They shouldn't have grass details, but they do.

Anyway, doesn't really matter right now, all the textures are place holders. We're looking for a texture artist and right now this is what we have to work with
In Nomine Dole wrote:Wait is this a game or a mod?
Both. We're making all of our game maps as CE Maps (step 1) to make sure they play properly. At the same time I am working on the game engine, with the help of the XNA community (step 2). When the engine is complete, I will make a simple map editor much like Sapien, and a tag editor like Guerrilla, both of course for our map files (which probably won't be single file archives, but sets of files, depends on how far I get). We will then remake all the Halo tags for the Chaos engine and up the quality of the game elements where possible (stuff like bump maps on players, scenery and vehicles)

@CptnNsan0:
We haven't been working for very long, and the weapons aren't even remotely close to texturing, but they will be.
And the biped got rather good reviews at GBX
That map is just a test map and still needs textures and a lot of mesh work, but the picture you see is still old - really old, like from last year old.

Those gun models look awesome, with a nice skin for in game it would be even better.

And OMG your making it a 360 game... Wow I'm amazed. Let's hope you make it as good as possible. Hey, do you think it's legal to make patches so that we can play Halo Maps? Or is that illegal? Play some Halo on a new engine (maybe better?)

Are you going to have Online multiplayer? That'll be a big challenge.

Good luck!

It would be better to just convert the maps and give them out via some secure method with proof of ownership.

On the topic of online play, networking is currently not available for the 360 for the XNA, however I guarantee we'll have some crude form of online play on the first release of the PC version.

Yeah, but who could you do that?

Maybe make a converter for .map files with the Halo engine to your game's engine?

I was actually thinking extract > import > convert > export > add to content list, but a map converter would probably work, would be hard though.
I'm more concerned with making the engine to begin with.
Let me see if I can find some of my crude videos.
Yeah, this is the first test of what can be considered the engine:

And this is my most recent video of my test game in which you fly a banshee around blood gulch (has collision, sounds, and a few shader effects)

Oh, ok whatever works. But, yeah, work on the game/engine first. Must feel cool to have your own engine being built lol.
