They talk about how extraction wont help the community, i beg to differ. How about the people who want to make small edits to current animation just so they can make it match the mod a little more. Not to mention wont you need to extract the bones of the model so you can have the animation properly injected?

Are you kidding me guys, why are you so upset over this? It's happened before, it's going to happen again. Let them not share. We'll figure this out, it may take a little longer but we'll do it no doubt it.

Tural there's a reason researched ceased.. it's because all of the "elite" told us that it was impossible to do this or do that, but in reality they didn't know how to do it, so they figured we could never do it.

I like no other would love to have h2 animations extracted for some rendering just like you. It would please me to see the tools released.

but if they aren't, big deal. I'll live with it.

I, for one, don't give a shit about Halo 2 modding. The sole reason I was happy to see this topic was for animation extraction. Now it's not going to be released, I have every reason to be disappointed. I don't know where you get off suggesting I'm not allowed to feel however I want about something. I suggest you stop instigating conflict unless you have some legitimate reason, which, so far, you do not.

Also people care the same about my opinion as they would yours, you're no better than any other person here, so get off your high horse. I like you Tural, I don't want to look at you in a bitter way. So, let's just forget this little spat happened. I wasn't even trying to argue. If you want to argue just pm me, but I really don't want to argue with you my friend.

You keep forgetting or hell you may not know, there's others here who are highly capable of the extractions. They just haven't done it, so why worry about it if you are, you probably don't however.

I know your disappointed Tural, just give it some time, I know we've gave it year after year now, just trust me. If you don't want to trust me then don't, it's your choice.

why is it that people can't read? We've stated several times we're releasing the injector, but not the extractor. The point of this thread was injection, not extration.

we've seen it, and knew it was a problem from the beginning. The thing is, i have no problem releasing extraction if it was for the h2 xbox community only, however the CE community is a whole different story. I've talked to CAD about implementing a feature to extract the origins of fp anims so you can inject an animation into a preexisting fp weapon smoothly. That's probably the closest we can get to editing preexisting anims without disrupting the balance though :( .

We prefer originality and hard work over some 12 year olds wet dreams of turning halo ce into a crappy remake of halo 2 for the 900th time.

Yeah allright, but are you gonna release at least the animation injection?

Besides all i'd like to do with this is create cinematics and new machines.

Example, a moving platform, but the problem is in order to know how it works I need an example so extract the original animation of the machine to make my own with that one, well at least the first time.

What's the problem with animation?

Let people create crappy h2 mods for CE but that's not a fair reason to not release it for h2 modding community, that's the only thing that could bring some life again to the h2 modding scene, please release it.

Ok, sorry about that, but still sometimes we would really need to extract as i gave the example with the machines or if we want to edit some existing animations, per example there's a lift from SP, a platform that goes up and down, I'd like to be able to extract the animation to make it go higher.

device machines use an overlay animation, overlays usually have a hard coded order.

For device machines:
Frame 0 = Closed Position
Last Frame = Open Position

They can be as many frames as you'd like, as long as they follow that rule. The game interpolates the animation accordingly ingame. If the machine is an elevator that needs to go to a certain height, import the bsp and animate it accordingly. People have been doing things this way in ce for quite some time, I don't see how its any different in this case.
