Mostly a WIP, but its pretty much going to be a side by side of the Hunter, Masterchief, Elite, and hopefully the Arbiter (when i make a good material for him). Environment ideas.......i dont got any yet, so that might take a bit.

He's not even holding the SMG in the first pic... it's just sitting there.

I like the MC, but not so much the sword.

He has already said it needs to be fixed on yayap.com
So no.

Also, a completely HDR image GI based render of Zanzibar.
So what you're seeing is pixel for pixel real life render.

It's a sunset....

EDIT:

Right, the lighting shown in that image is a pixel for pixel replication of the real life scene where it was taken.

Halo 2 Rules!!, i just noticed that you have the PR's heat gauge poly's still on the models. it would do you good to get rid of em, as they're just grey polys

Nice scene Veegie, but the MC's material *except the visor* looks way too low quality...unless you were going for an in-game look.

It's the EXACT material used in this scene.

If you're talking about the bump maps not showing up, then just think about ti for a moment. The way you see bump maps is shadowing from extrusions or intrusions within or outside of an object. If there is GI with several light bounces, i.e. real life. Where there isn't distinguished and very sharp shadows like in 3ds max, do you expect to see them 'highlighting' the bumpmap?

I know about the bumpmaps, its just the texture itself looks low quality...like dimensions wise.

Yea, is there any way to use the bumpmap when you use hdr? I have noticed that when i render is hdr, there is no bumpmap. I think the best way to go if you cant figure out how to use the bumpmap in hdr is displace the mesh :o

Yeah if you use final render and use GI/HDRI lighting, then use the micro triangle displacement, its awesome and will give a more pronounced and realistic effect than the bump. Plus its done only at render, so it doesnt slow your comp down so much.

Also Veegie, do you use terragen and a prog like HDRshop to make your HDR images? Also do you use vray or final render to implement them?
Final render is a bit of a pain to use HDR images with, it has its own custom options for them, but it requires a good bit of tweaking.
