It all depends on debug abilities of your xbox, and what version your xbox is.
For example, lets say I have a 1.0 xbox, which I do, and I have any Modchip or LPC Debug chip installed through the debug ports that can allow debug executables to run properly. that would in turn allow your xbox to run unsigned code after running a debugged bios. Since the halo 2 beta uses an unsigned .xbe, then you have to be running the XDK software for it to be able to run. but even then, debug boxes have lots of problems running halo 2 for some reason.
that pretty much explains it.

I remember a guy in XS had a halo1 beta that allowed 64 players multiplayer and he was creating a machine with something like 20 xbox connected to it,
well he said that this beta would only run on certain dev kits so....

I think I got a picture of the disintegrator (spelling) somewhere around here.

hmmzz theres gots to be a way to do it, id assume it has basicly the same structure as Halo 2 final and the beta maps could probably be made to run with it, however id assume itd take someone a long time and a lot of editing of codes to do it.

That would require alot of behind the scene's modding. Current applications won't open the Halo2 beta.

Opening/decompiling of the tags has already been acheived by Kornman, it wont be released so don't ask, its all detailed over on the h2vista.net forums if you are interested..

Also, anyone know anything about this image?

looks kinda like Tombstone, or a map that is gonna be for Halo 3 that wasn't in Halo 2, i dunno.

Stefander gave CLuis the map files, since he actually beta tested.
CLuis re-wrote the model library to work with that map format.

I'd doubt it. the code used in an unsigned xbe title is much different from the final builds. in other words, not only does the xbe control what is needed in order run the game, but it also controls the cache on your harddrive which allows the maps to be run properly, without overloading your HD. the unsigned xbe signs the maps with a different code, and the final build maps are of a different structure. my guess would that it would look somewhat like the h2v map making programs.

You all do realize that you talking about modding it isn't allowed, because you can not legally acquire it, right? I advise you to stop discussing making it work and reading the maps and whatnot.
