The XNA Framework is exactly like Managed DirectX.
Making the engine was exactly like it would be with a DirectX app.

But you are... Bacon scripted alot of the engine (if not all of it). Everything in those videos are placeholders. Nothing else. They are there to show off simple things like collision and shaders.

the weapons and everything but they lack color and all but yea i kno its not done but still outstanding :twisted:

Just to clarify: The XNA handles rendering of a vertex buffer, file management (because the Xbox doesn't support the standard input used by other programs, so you couldn't make it yourself any way), and a few object types, which are really easy to make any way. It's basically just a set of simple commands all wrapped together so you don't have to bother with them. I've written programs with DirectX, the only difference here is I don't have to go through a for loop to load my model into a vertex buffer.


Also, new sky, uploading a video preview to YouTube.
Should be easy to get water like this into Chaos, just a moving bump map and pre rendered cube map reflection (notice our custom one in the video, the only problem it has is one of the faces is wrong)

This guy definitely was, but I'm guessing he wasn't someone of any importance to the project...

But enough about that, it was all just a big misunderstanding between one your lowest group members and me. I hope your mod looks great, but I have a game to make!

The "Trinity" non-render I posted in the Art Gallery is pretty much what the game will look like. The XNA can use any FX shader, which includes that bloom post shader! So, everything will look extremely real. I wish I could do that same thing with our biped, but it's isn't even unwrapped.
So, we'll just have to do some other stuff. If no one replies, I'll edit some new pics in here that are "pseudo-ingame"

So is a Halo 2 screenshot also a render? Since the models and materials are being Rendered by a game engine?
