Ok, here are the video post files, I've never really used it before so I could use some help.
The first one (ES) generates the gaseous look, the second does the electricity.

I Wonder what would of Happend if he didn't?Veegie wrote:trepdimeflou, I meant the effect. Christ.
He posted showing off his effect, I said "too large".
I figured he'd make the connection.
O ya... Help... Ummm...
If your going to have Plasma and such around the sword,
I Suggest you make the sword only half way or something...Or at least with more glow showing that is hasn't finished

"You know what I'd like to be? I mean if I had my goddamn choice, I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all."

Trepdimeflou, when someone tells you the problem with something. Do you accept it? If it's too big, the thought, "hey I should make it smaller" doesn't come to mind? If I'm the only one making that connection, I've got to be super-human. Seriously, come on man.trepdimeflou wrote:HK-47, don't post in here unless you are helping.
And Veegie, you didn't really help, you just told him what the problem was. There's a difference.

Yes, I made that conenction, and I'm sure he did as well.
He posted in the topic looking for help, not to know only what the problem was.
I'm sure that if he knew everything he needed to know to make it look good, he wouldn't be posting in this thread.
The only problem I had with your post is that you failed to help him; you just told him what he probably already knew.

I'm going to have to add a new rule to this topic, I suppose.Veegie wrote:If he already knew, it would help if he said he did.
And if he could create that effect thus far. I'm positive he knows how to scale it.
I don't know why you would knowingly do something wrong.

trepdimeflou wrote:Post any questions you have about rendering here, and we (you know who) will do our best to try and help you.
Tell us what you need help with, but:
Use COMPLETE SENTENCES
Use CORRECT GRAMMAR
Use CORRECT PUNCTUATION
Do Not Use FOUL LANGUAGE
Do Not Use ANY LANGUAGE BESIDES ENGLISH
There will be no insulting / harassment in this thread, and do not ask simple questions that can be solved by looking in the 3dsmax reference files. ie: "How do I open the material editor?"
UPDATED 5/6/06
If you are posting help for someone, post as if the person has no idea how to do what they are asking, because they probably don't. Post detailed information, like a mini-tutorial, not two words.
If you follow the guidelines above, I'm sure your problem will be sorted out.

"You know what I'd like to be? I mean if I had my goddamn choice, I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all."
or should I?
