I work at Microsoft Game Studios, not Bungie.
The renders were done in Maxwell with physically correct materials.

No tweaking needed.

Or he just uses an amazing rendering engine that can render physically correct materials and handles light with perfection. (not saying Veegie isnt amazing himself, It just doesnt have anything to do with who he works with)

3ds max 8 has the best Halo Custom Edition support...
I have the rigged models, but I need to know how to render the video thing.

Assign the number of frames you want it to render, and then give its output save directory and set it as whatever movie file you want.

Thanks, I got it to render :D

Oh, and those renders are beautiful, Trulife.
Those armor permutations go good together, I love the recon chest.

His head looks... weird. I see a lot of MarkVI and for some reason, it just doesn't look right to me.

I love your renders.
You should make some desktop backgrounds with the renders. :D

Are the values in the "vehi" tag? If not, which tag should I be looking at? And if someone edits my posts, at least take the courtesy of telling my why.

You're looking for the color change values for a banshee? I'm on my Mac so I can't help you but my guess is that the info is probably in the shad tag.

OK, I've got an other question. I've been messing with the Covenant Assault Carrier for a few days and can't seem to get it right.

Image

That's what I have. It doesn't appear to be shinny enough. That and the color seems too dark. It should be more like this. Does anyone have any idea why. I can post my material tree if the need arises.

Also, how do you get lights on your model? By this I mean, like on the elites. On the torso there are the blue lights on the armor. How do I get them illuminated?

The reason for the dark nature is due to the apparent lack of a proper specular and no environment being present.

As for the lights, you can use the Self Illumination in the shader to have the lights appear lit up. However, they will not emit light.

Well, I added some Omni lights and i did lighten it up.

Image

Though it still doesn't have that metallic shine too it. That's the result of the Specular being off, correct?

I do. Or, at least I think I do. This is my tree for the front half of it

The back end is basically the same. I think I'm missing something major.
