The shadows are a little weird on the marine's head.

Alright, I got banned from H3F so I decided to get back to learning 3ds max.

Here is what I got just barely remembering a tutorial I read a few months back.

I know it is horrible, I just need for a few people to tell me exactly what I need to do to fix it.

Thankyou :D

Everything.

Detail.
Color change.
Specular.
Bump.
Reflection.
Self illumination/scene lighting.

Yeah, basically everything. You need an entire material, not just a diffuse map.

Ye..
I figured I created pretty much the roughest render possible.

Could you link me to a tutorial that might help me out?

Hey guys how do you change the position of ur pivot point back to its orginal point? I attached an object and later detached it but now the movement axis and rotation axis are way off to one side...

Create a box that barely fits around the object and then attach your object to that box. Delete the box.

There is something messed up with the diffuse color.

Looks 100x better than the first. Visor could use some work, but the base armor material is a good start.

Good Job Reyer, I would suggest putting the visor on a seperate material to keep it from being green. Anyways what do you guys think about this? It's a wip but I need ideas on improvement of the scene. And I know about the floor I'm working on it currently.

Any Idea for improvement are welcome

some of the poses look a little odd, namely the elite and the Mastercheif.

Im going to start taking a modelling/texturing class in school soon, so I figured I would start familiarizing myself with 3dsmax materials and such. So here is my render of the Halo 2 monitor. I just got a tablet PC so I may do another with higher res textures.

Something is messed up with one of the hands. But it still looks pretty nice.

It looks like the normals are flipped on that hand.
