wouldnt know the first thing about that...my rig's ive done amazed me that they even worked...x....x.......

This is a picture I made for my friend for his birthday. Please forgive the Google-d BG but I only had about an afternoon to export rig and texture the chief and rocket launcher models AND setup the scene

Also can anyone give me some good tips on making the materials look more like the ones in the game? I only have max 6 so I cannot use normal maps. What is the alpha for in the main DDS file is it specular or another bump or what?

MC, Waist down: 5/10 -- Looks too... Shiney I think...

Grunts: 8/10
Mexican Grunts: 11/10

Yeah I dunno I messed around with inverting them and it looked better at the time but now they look wrong I'll work on that.

I re-rendered and the bumps seemed to fix... I guess something just got messed up somewhere. Are they to shallow or deep though? As for the "shininess" the spec is set to 0, that is all from the really bright light I put behind him (nuke).

I think you are right. Try making it self-illuminated and or emitting light and try losing the reflection. The shield is plasma right? So try lighting a match or lighter and matching the appearance of the fire (besides the color of course). The eyes look fine from this angle but could you post a close up of them?Over all I'd give it 7/10 (because of the shield). Excellent job!

The shield appears to be drastically lower quality than the Jackel himself.
