Ok i'm VERY new to 3ds max and i have two very n00bie problems
In this picture how would i smooth the entire mask out so that it doesn't have those annoying triangles in it
And in this picture how would I smooth out his chest armour, cuz i looks very weird
TY, for any help

It looks to me like you're trying to select too many verticies at a time... for the mask, you really only need to smooth the center ones, just select 'one' (or that's how it'll look) at a time... and same would go for the chest armor, make sure also...that when you're doing the chest armor, that you have the 'ignore backface' button selected, and that you're making sure not to accidentally select verticies on the back side of MC.

you make an rgbmultiply, and in one slot you put the detail map. then you tile it according to what it says in the shader tag, assuming you know how and where to look. metal_dirty is an example of a detail map.
small update on what i posted a while back.
I do not mod halo, so please do not send me Instant Messages asking how.
Also, do not send me pm's regarding modding halo.

Unless you give the weapon to them, I don't think they ever use a human weapon.
correct me if im wrong but nearly every level you play against the brutes arnt there nearly always at least one brute carrying a shotgun?
on the great journey i always bump into at least two brutes possibly 3 brutes carrying the shot gun same with the level after "gravemind".

Yes, Brutes carry Shotguns...I was responding to his quote however, which mentioned Grunts.

as far as i know he said the covenant dont use human weapons meaning none of them so i was correcting on what seemd a flawed comment
GTAF: i realise you was talking to him but i wasnt entirly sure wherther you was implying that just for the grunts or the covenant as a whole sorry if i confused or irritated.
I won't edit it, but I will elaborate on my comment in regards to the Brute mention.
I hardly consider the Brute covenant, just because how they were so wholly mashed into it at the last second. Now of course I know that is wrong from a technical standpoint, because they are actually part of the Covenant. It's merely an opinion.

cant you just except that u where wrong, and who cares if a grunt is holding...what is that? shottie or br? it looks kool like that, u need to focus more on the look of how a render is, instead of characteristics of the character and prop that they are holding
