You need to rotate the cubemaps also. I'll leave that to one of the people who worked on the algorithm.

Yeah I think I needed to rotate the bottom one 180*.
Can you be a little more specific about the specular Veegie?

All of them need rotating in some fashion.

I just applied them to a cube as diffuse maps and got them to all match up except the bottom one. I still don't think it is exactly correct though. I am going to work on the order some more.

A cubemap should be a Reflect/Refract on the Reflection map.

Edit: I misunderstood. See if trep will tell you how to do it.

No, sorry I explained that wrong. I set them to a reflect/ refract for the reflections. I set them as diffuse maps on the cube to find out what order to put them in.

*cough* On yayap.com, search for cubemaps. Me / Aequitas released them all in the Rendering section, and they are formatted to load correctly once you load the first one. *cough*

all of the aforementioned cubemaps are oriented correctly, so all you have to do is load them.

trepdimeflou, that looks amazing! did you add geometry or is that all in the bump? a quick explanation of how you set that up would be awesome, thanks.

Hallo...
On my MC i am using a color map, and i was wondering...
Can I use a color map and have two different colors at the same time on the MC... you know the First Color then the secondary with the color map?
or do i have to do that in PS?
like what ya see?
Aim me for details.

use the masterchief's color cc map. the red represents primary, green is secondary, black is uncolored.

Just a quick question in 3ds Max, I searched this up already.. and I can't find answers, but how do you make a cubemap affect only the metal area of the bitmap, I made the alpha bitmap, and I presume it's something in Mix?

For the reflection channel, select a mask instead of a bitmap(or in this case Reflect/Refract)
For the mask bitmap, select your alpha.
White areas are affected(areas that reflect), black areas are not affected.
And above the mask slot, put your Reflect/Refract.

Use the MC's alpha map as the mask, and mirror surface as the reflect/refract
