Notice deehunter is not making a CG film, he is only making static images and the 24bit is fine for his purposes.

If someone wants an HDR of Standoff, I can make one for you.
Though it won't be a pano, I don't have the time for that.

I wasn't referring to Dee's render, I was referring to what Trep said, which doesn't pertain to Dee's render. Besides, Trep wasn't even talking about static images, at all. He was talking about CG films.

Installed 3ds Max 2008 to get back into it for the first time in about 7 months to test some .HDR files I generated from Halo 3.
Turned out pretty well.
Threw together a material in about 6 minutes.

All you changed was the HDR on those? The High Ground one looks pretty nice.

That pose looks just like the one Jean posted on yayap. But it is alright, I prefer Epitaph render.

Yes. Just changing what .hdr was used to illuminate the scene.

It's a good pano. I tested it with a render and its sick. You should make a bunch of them. :)

If this was to be rendered as an abstract then what kind of material would you expect it to have?

Orange-brown organic. It kinda looks like something I would see in the Cortana level of Halo 3

What kind of lighting do you use for that abstract? I can never make mine look quite as smooth and almost ceramic looking as that.

I use Vray Global illumination. Irradiance maps and Quasi-Monte Carlo for secondary bounces.
