That script is a fake, discontinue any discussion about it. It was written by a random person, not an employee at Bungie, and has no kernel of truth to it whatsoever.

Yup, since it's not plasma, but a particle accelerator. It's probably more like a railgun that starts with a plasma projectile and speeds it through the long barrel.

Yes, because chances are it's a typo that only occurs once, which means that is not what they are called.

I mean seriously, for the love of God, to think that they are called "turrents" makes no sense whatsoever. Notice in the dialog they're called turrets, and in the tags they're called turrets, and on the Bungie site they're called turrets, and on HBO they're called turrets, and everyone who plays calls them turrets. But I'm sure your single-instance occurance is enough to repute all of those.
