could you rip off the tops of the tread thingys so that you see the tread moving? Or null out the shaders for them... and model size the treads...

You can't rip off the treads by using the shader, 'cuz the tops and sides use the same one, so nulling it would make the whole treads almost completely invisible.
He could probably mess with the damage permutations to take the tops off, but I personally think it looks fine the way it is.

Btw, X, I've done some work on suspensions, so if you want to do anything different there, hit me up on the TLM site.
What kind of doors are you gonna' be going for? Kind of a gull wing type like what Bungie showed on their snow hog? That would be awesome.
