What can I say Xero.

Whoever said I was going for that look... I'm not. There really isn't a huge point of doing the same thing as everyone else.benman08 wrote:uhh yea, the texture dosent look good at all. It dosent reflect, so it really dosent have the apperance of armor.
Which isn't even minebenman08 wrote:The only thing i like is the bump map >_>

Wrong. Though I admit the rubber needs work.benman08 wrote:It looks like all you did was make a mix map and set the rubber color as a tiled detail map.

Sooo, now I have a Xbox 360. And because the normal diskusting Halo 360 background, I did a Halo Background myself.
Here is it:

Dont be wondering about the very big Space around the Chif. Thats because the 360 Dashboard need much Space like e. g. the them papers/pages.
I got the inspiration from this little friend on my subwofer...

i think having your name so large... ok i KNOW having your name so large on that really kills the picture. i'm sorry, but puting DINO CRISIS all over the render looks absolutely rediculous. it should be something legible, and not taking over the picture... try to think about that next time and you'll turn out with something much nicer.
Pose: nice, but needs a drop shadown do really ground the chief.
background: good choice of a neutral grey.
name: never... ever... do that.
1) bold border around name, which is the blackest black of the whole page... draws your eyes there and makes it look more solid than any other part of your render
2) richer red than chief's armor... draws your eyes to the horrible halo font
3) size... there is never any reason to put your name so large on the render. is your name the subject or is chief?
these negatives really kill your render and make it very uninteresting.
you can count on my crit to be right on. one of my studies was graphic design. the way you direct eye movement on the page absolutely kills the composition. your choices for the text were poorly made.
i do like your rendering style, but... your end result was just very poorly done.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

Dino, if you're going to put your name like that, I suggest you try to mimic the coloring in the Halo 2 logo. There are some images online you can get that are tilable and are good for that.
The text is okay if you're using it for the xbox background, but no offense, but you did a poor job at it. It doens't really look at all like the actual Halo text, as I mentioned in the first paragraph.
