MLG Heightened

Okay guys this is my first map that i tried to interlock, i didn't do any geo merging as i have not yet mastered it and if i did it would have helped this map immensely.

Weapons on map:
4 Battle Rifles
4 Carbines
2 Sniper Rifles
2 Needlers
1 Shotgun
6 Frag grenades
6 Plasma grenades
and 1 Custom Power up set to MLG standards

Game types:
CTF "personal fav"
Slayer
Oddball
KOTH

Oddball might be messed up with spawns but idk why i set them accordingly to red and blue base and the neutral spots.

The needlers are there for the fact that they seem to work okay against someone with Custom powerup they may not be standard MLG weaponry but they add a nice touch to the map.

I tried to do this map in a noticeable style but in a way that a 2 base symmetrical map hadn't been done before. So now the pics.

Red base:

Blue base:

Note: i know that movable objects are not in mlg but for this map the crates, dumpsters, and barrels are essential for game play to make it more exciting.
I know some of the fence walls protruding out of the boxes are not exactly the same but im learning i just lost patience with it when i was doing that, well this is my first interlocked map hope you all enjoy and please leave me some critiques on how to get better. Thanks

*Eh hem*, that was in the beta.

It's hard to comment on this, as the pictures don't give me an overall feel of the map.

But I mean, I think it's safe to say it doesn't look terrible.

Nah, the map itself looks very good. I complement him on that one, good job. :D

Pics are way too big, the forum actually cuts the picture. thus not allowing me to see the whole thing. But the maps looks great TBH.

Overall it looks pretty good, but there are some things to note.

The interlocking is smooth in some places, but rather rough in others. There's some room for improvement.

Definitely try to learn how to geomerge. It's especially important in MLG, because grenades get lost easily.

Flip the bridges upside-down. They look better and aren't as bumpy.

If you're using powerups for callouts, make sure you choose wisely. You interlocked yellow and red powerups...they should be green in theory, but they don't mix like you'd expect. People won't know which color to call out. Blue and red are the only powerups that mix together, to form purple. All other combinations form white. So for callouts, use red, blue, white, and purple.

Fusion coils are not MLG. Also, try putting in some more ground cover. It looks empty.

Finally, the only way onto the bases that I can tell is jumping onto a dumpster. Add ramps and natural channels. Too much jumping can ruin a map.

It's not bad for a start, but there's plenty of room for improvement. :)

Yes, this pics are much too big. From what I see, it's not half bad. It's not something I would download, but if you make a few edits, I might give it a shot.

Swap the shotty with a rocket launcher (no backup ammo) and the needlers with maulers and then your MLG. Also the map looks awesome :)

No, it still has fusion coils and barrels. Technically it's not up to MLG standards, but it's a relatively competitive layout.

Good point. Swap the barrels with the stone road block things. Then take out fusion coils and do those weapon swaps and it would be pretty close to MLG.

to clear this up lol V2 will have the following

No movable scenery as in MLG standards
No fusion coils as in MLG standards
i will GeoMerge gold and white walkway / base and change white to purple to distinguish sides more
The needlers will be replaced with Maulers with 1 clip due to the fact that there so powerful
The shot gun will be a Rocket with 2 shots in it
The snipers will stay but with 1 clip each the map is big enough to hold them both and it makes it more fun
I will re do the center piece to not look so bare and flip the bridges leading to and try to re work another walkway into the front of both blue and red base.

I made this map specifically for 2 team CTF and slayer also oddball and Bomb work well

Sounds good Captain! We have to play this on XBL sometime.
