Maybe you should READ the Tutorial, not just asking for a video. Veegie had to do this all by "hand". You have a program where you have to click a few buttons? Your lazy.Ringleader wrote:thanks buddy, I'll remember your over enthusiasm to help when you ask for something, and It will be met with generosity and eagerness to share knowledge in an equally friendly and courteous manner, particularly if you are somewhat new to the subject that you may need aid in.That is absolutely unnecessary.
To think how many times I did all of this by hand, and to see people having trouble clicking a few buttons and following some directions, honestly...

.......*facepalm* If you had any idea who you just said that to, you would realize how much ownage is coming your way in the immediate future..... that is Veegie, who did this research with friends before the community was ever even close to it. That is the same guy who is worked with DeToX to create the .map plugins, and also one of the few who can do REAL modding. You have no idea which hornets nest you just knocked down...... Repent or you will most likely find your balls at eye level on a plate.Ringleader wrote:thanks buddy, I'll remember your over enthusiasm to help when you ask for something, and It will be met with generosity and eagerness to share knowledge in an equally friendly and courteous manner, particularly if you are somewhat new to the subject that you may need aid in.That is absolutely unnecessary.

So what ? Just because he is an amazing modder gives him the right to treat users as complete crap ? I think not. I have seen Veegie act like this for a long time and I had confronted him once and someone said the same thing to me. I think someone who has done such things should either be more helpful or ignore those who have more simpleton questions. The attitude is surely not needed nor does it help the situation at hand. </rant>TheEazyB wrote:.......*facepalm* If you had any idea who you just said that to, you would realize how much ownage is coming your way in the immediate future..... that is Veegie, who did this research with friends before the community was ever even close to it. I didnt get the feeling Veegie was pissed. Just a little iritated about the person needing a video, when all you have to do is read a few sentances, and click a few buttons.jordanimal wrote:So what ? I think the only reason you are saying somthing, is because he is a staff member. If I said that, nothing would have happened.
I believe Eazy B's point is you should respect those who spoon feed you. Programmers and researchers do all the work to make all the things for modding possible, Eazy B is stating he is the guy who contributed so much, and all he said was he was forced to do this by Hex, and people can't follow a simple tutorial outlining every single step for you using a program that also does everything for you.jordanimal wrote:So what ? Veegie did not give anyone attitude... He stated he had to do this in a much harder way, and he thinks its ridiculous people have everything to make it as simple as simple can be, and they can't follow it...
Even if you misunderstand something in the tutorial, is it really hard to sit there for half a second and try to comprehend what it says? In all honesty, comprehension of new concepts is a critical part of modding... How about you try it out a couple of times and try to understand, other than instantly want a youtube video when it will just run through everything written here exactly...?

You can also purchase a transfer kit or use an official Xbox 360 transfer cable in which you can get for free by asking Mircosoft.Eaton wrote:Nope. All you need is an XSATA or an XPort. No modification to the console are necessary at all.L0d3x wrote:Forgive me my probably stupid question here...but: does your xbox 360 need to be modded in order to use this tutorial?
Again...I almost am embarassed for asking this, *sad face*

I have an elite, I didn't use the transfer cable that came with it. There really only 10 dollars, very cheap.Ringleader wrote:I think you have to have an Elite to get the transfer wire for free.
Figured out my problem, whenever I would transfer my hard-drive, I would unplug my consoles power to try to reduce the risk of damaging my system, I didn't do it this time, and it worked.

I do understand that. I mean, I do respect Veegie for what work he is done. But if you feel offended about what someone said, even if it was the President, you should still have the right to express your feelings on the situation without someone saying "OMG U SAID THAT 2 THA PREZ!". I guess I get too worked up about this kind of thing. Sorry for interrupting the thread!-DeToX- wrote:I believe Eazy B's point is you should respect those who spoon feed you. Thats not my point. I'm saying Veegie didn't say anything that should've made you trigger off like that... He's simply stating he finds it rediculous people would need that much help. He's allowed to express that opinion and he isn't attempting to trigger an argument, but states his opinion.
Also Eazy B is saying you should show some respect to those who help you... Even if you don't feel you should because you dislike his actions, he truly didn't do anything wrong...

Thats the thing, he made it clear that he will not help me, and he said it as though no one else should either, which is somewhat offending because anyone else could have had an answer, but now that he said that, its too late. + Its probably the program or my system, because I did the same thing nearly 15 times, and it only worked 2 times.
It must be user error if the system has successfully done it twice. And in honesty, if you followed my tutorial and mixed in a little common sense here and there, you really shouldnt need a video. Think of it from Veegie's perspective: He was doing this all manually with a hex editor, and now we are using a program with everything integrated into it and still need help? Now you can see Veegie's perspective.Ringleader wrote:Thats the thing, he made it clear that he will not help me, and he said it as though no one else should either, which is somewhat offending because anyone else could have had an answer, but now that he said that, its too late. + Its probably the program or my system, because I did the same thing nearly 15 times, and it only worked 2 times.

Look I Youtubed exactly what I did
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtCZireAXbo
you can see that I did exactly what the tutorial said to do, and you can read the side comments and it explains exactly what happened.
so then I decided to restart my 360, and thats when the weird things happened that the next video explains.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tSD7kvtSKk
I don't know what do do, on rare occasions, it works, but it is far more likely to be corrupted, or not show up, or not have any changes, and I did it the same way, so saying that its user error is not true.

okay, I'm kinda having a problem finding my saved usermaps, gametypes, films ect.
I open Xport, go to Content\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\4D5307E6\00000001
all i get inside are 2 films and a usermap.
However, when i put my HDD back in my xbox i still have all my saved content which is definitely more than 2 films and a forge map.
Is there some step im missing or what, the only thing i can think of is that i get the "you are almost at 100 content limit" in game when i save something new.
BTW im using the 360 data migration adaptor if it makes any difference
Yes, im a new at halo 3 modding and would appreciate if someone kindly turned me in the right direction
Thanks for any help
