Then in Engineer's settings set the map folder to the folder with your maps. If this does not work your maps are most likely corrupted.

It has a tutorial to get the maps off of your disk.

are you going yo make a way in how to extract the bitmaps and models into a usable format? like the models as .obj so 3d's max 8 can take it, and the bitmaps in a format as .tif? just wondering if anybody is working on that, cause multiple people on halo ce (custom edition) take halo 2 stuff and put it on halo ce

Ok, I realize this is like poking an exposed nerve (which i guess in some cases wouldn't technically hurt...), but how are things going (or not going) with model extraction, anyway? Is there any hope at all?
What are people using to develop this (Engineer)? How can I help (besides not bugging the crap out of the developers...)?

I'll let someone that knows answer your first question, but Engineer is being programmed in the programming language C#. You can download C# Express Edition of off the Microsoft website and create C3 programs with it. You can help by downloading the source of Engineer and adding more features to it, but Halo 3 is tricky to make applications for and it's not really, for the beginner programmer.
