I was wondering what a Dev Kit was/does to make an Xbox360 run unsigned code?
The price and how I come about one.

The dev kit that you are thinking of is an actual console that costs around $800.
But to get one legally you must be a developer.
Drop it.

The nature of the console is to allow either unsigned code, or to have the key available to resign the xex for that console. That's just how it's designed for developers.

$800 is the amount that gets tossed around a lot for a dev kit.

Well hey i'm a Developer. I'll buy one for 800. I develop Community games with C#. Does that count?

Apply to MS for a dev kit if you're a developer.

As said above.. Go apply for MS to get one.. Even though that alone won't get you shit...

Also, don't think you will get one and someone will hand over the stuff you need. Also if you did get one it would be another noob with a dev that would deprive someone that knows how to develop for it/wants to do research.

Dude. Shut up. You don't know his intentions with the Dev Kit. He may do research on it, not just Halo 3 modding. Therefor it wouldnt be a waste

I dont think community games can land you a Dev Kit. But you can always try.
