I don't have any way to transfer to/from my computer and 360 so I'm guessing.
If someone was at there limit of custom content , then connected there hard drive to there computer, added something like a forge map.
Would they be able to do that, or would there be an error?
and if it did work would they be able to play that map?

it most likely wouldnt recognise the added maps. Id imagine the limit of custom content items would be stored in the XEX, so it wouldnt be conventional/useful to edit one and use.

You'd be better off storing forge maps and stuff on your PC, and transfering them over as necessary.

What I do is just swap devices when saving. For example: Your tying to save a film on your HDD, and you reached your limit, unplug and quickly plug back in your MU (if you have one) and it will ask you to choose a device, choose MU, and you should be able to save your film.

Works for me, assuming you have a MU.

Also if you want to load something thats saved on your HDD, just do the same thing, except select your HDD.

No.
You just have to make another silver-profile.
