ok so i was in for a big part of halo 2 modding, but that was after there were some great apps out to use. now i want to do the same in halo 3 but for obvious reasons there arent any public apps available so im going to start with my own apps but i have no idea were to start. im well aware that most of the files can be edited in a hex editor and that most files need a hash resigned. but could someone point me in the right direction of were to start modding by hand and experimenting and maybe making my own i presume in C#/C++ with visual studio is what most of you are using.

i just want to know were to start doing this without having to leech off others apps and depend on someone else.

Yeah there is already a couple public apps that allow you to make halo 3 mods.

As for learning C# I always recommend this book.

Books fail in comparison to taking a class. IF you can find one hosted at like a university for a high school, they can teach you lots of good stuff.
