Ive noticed that almost every mod and a lot of things about mods are not let out to the public. How excatly would you beable to get into the underground modding business. Ive been researching halo 3 mods and such for monthes and I can't get anywhere really becuase nothing is released into the public. All I really what to know is how to not the one of the "publics".

Start on your own project.

Show that you can contribute enough in Halo 3 modding research and maybe the people who have established a group will let you use their tools necessary to mod Halo 3. You also need a dev kit which costs around $800.

This'll probably get locked, not because they don't want you to mod(well, they probably don't), but because they probably doubt the public's(yours) capabilities.

You need to know, a lot. Not only the map structure, but programming, and all that stuff, I'm sure that it's incredibly difficult.

To mod, you'd probably have to get 'in' with one of the inside members, and right now, they aren't accepting applications, so tough luck.

Then you probably aren't qualified to be doing a whole lot of research.

The people doing it now aren't doing it just to screw around, they are making tools and mapping out a lot of data, so that when a modification before the 360 is made that allows unsigned code to run, they can release the information, and we'll have a huge head-start on modding.

Well, for Halo 3, you can't.
Unless you can figure out your own way of getting around the various barriers that stop just anyone from modding. It's not public yet, as you can see.

What does not quallified mean?

You don't have the resources or the knowledge to get involved in the process. As stated, the first thing you're going to need is an $800 devkit, which is technically illegal for you to purchase.

Yeah I also don't have that kind of money. Is there any idea of when anything of halo 3 modding will be released at all.

When the people who do hardware modding, the people on other sites, can create a modification to allow unsigned code to run on the 360, then you can probably expect tools or information.

They have the right material.
Or, they bullshit everything and just use forge tricks and make it appear to be a mod, either or.

They have a devkit. Pretty much all mods are done on it.

You can look at the screenshots and videos, but don't be able to expect to be able to play them.

I recently was over at a friends place, and he went into a custom game and actually had some modded maps. I doubt he made them by himself though cause he knows nothing about modding.

All I'm saying is if you look hard enough you can probably find those maps shown on youtube.

You're right, he didn't. Everybody can find a link to a modded forge map, but can they make their own and make it playable? Also, there is a difference between modded forge maps and actual mods done to .maps.
