I've heard you have to open you Xbox 360 and do stuff the the firmware to be able to run burnt games, just like people did for Old Map modding on Halo 2. Well I have copied Halo 3 to my computer and extracted the maps, and i did some modding to it by hex, then i made an ISO of the maps and before i burn a disc, i wan't to know if it works

No, it will not work on an unmodified console.

There might be some sort of softmod, like on the original Xbox. But if Tural doesnt know about it, then it's not likely :?

no such way yet

i would suggest doing your research before you do anything, i've seen too many n00bs braggin bout their mod box only to have it fail a week later because they rooted their firmware. Any modification that asks you to flash your firmware is going to wreck your 360 eventually

I would suggest you to resist on posting such idiotic crap... I have modded about 9 xbox 360's and they are all running fine :/

In fact, if you use a firmware that lowers the read speed of the drive, it will most likely increase the life of the drive due to less stress on the motor.

1. We do not support the talk of old map moding
2. Moding the maps right now, is well... not being shared
3. Yes you can get it to work without modified firmware but you need to press the disk with a factory machine and keep the code intact. In short no not unless you work at microsoft or you own a buisness.

1) We know. It's very old news here.
2) If you're going to offer a suggestion, explain it. I'm sure he clearly knows what that means and exactly how to do it.

Hes talking about firmware disk moding and many people I know were scolded by this site and accused of cheating for wanting to know how to inject a map into an ISO. Thats what I based my statement off of.

He's saying it's like Halo 2, he is not suggesting the action of doing it with Halo 2.

I thought general talk about things like that were not allowed.

It's contributing to the discussion more than it is causing a problem.

I never said it was causing a problem I am just calling it how I've known it. I'll leave the rules to the mods.

I never said you said anything, I was offering an explanation, not a rebuttal.

Couldn't tell, it was a bit vague. I really couldn't base anything more than a interpretation for the above statement.
