  • Using an xsata device is a whole lot easier, safer, more reliable (and preferable) etc than doing that disk crap to access the data.. even torrenting (a bit less illegal too!..).
  • This easier access is good for two reasons:
    1. It increases the amount of people who can gain access to the maps, so they can start researching, possibly in ways we didn't think of before.
    2. And for when you need to run tests than require all maps to check against (ex. is this value const in all maps, is this the smallest tag size for this tag, etc)..
I would say there is some impact there.

didn't tural have a post here? I decided it wasn't worth arguing about. ~T Anyway, would it be possible for someone to pass along a smidgen of some/one of the white papers. I would and could experiment on my own but knowing what is undefined as of yet or a few key values would be awesome. For instance right now i am looking at gametype modification and seeing how there is two programs for that and two programs for usermap and/or film editing, and one for just film editing and one for just usermap/gametype from film clip extraction, i imagine that there is one or two bytes out there that are defined that someone could share. Please a few bytes would be greatly appreciated :)

Huh? What exactly do you want? Something specific?

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the forge spawn menu? or the party leader monitor only byte(s). Thanks, :D. (probably should've clarified that from the get go)

no not the entires in the menu, the entire menu. Disable the menu in forge, i don't believe this is possible but i don't know really how to look into this and seeing as i don't have my xbox in my dorm room.

Oh. I don't think that can be done with just usermap/gametype modding. You would probably have to disable it through map modding.

Oh. I don't think that can be done with just usermap/gametype modding. You would probably have to disable it through map modding.
that was my thought as well just wanted to see if anyone had come across any features of the forge gametype/lobby. Thanks Eaton

like the Gravity script? is it any different to Halo 2?

Is it possible to script the Forward Unto Dawn to move? and the movement sync?

i also have a question, (sorry i am like the herpes of asking questions, but please bear with me, I am asking only because i don't have a means to test these questions without a devkit.)

Campaign. not modable. thats clear, however i have one burning question, game type. Yes i know campaign does not have a game type but the game must have some rules built into it or is that inherent in the map?

is it possible to view bsps yet? if so i think we should use that for forge editing instead of coords

Rules:
Like When a Player Dies?
SP - Player0 = Dead, restart Checkpoint...or with Iron = Restart Level
Co-op - Player0 = Dead, Waiting to Respawn...

even scripts would be different, Dialogues, Level scripts and even the cinematic.
SP - Its about Chief, Arbiter is mentioned
Co-op 2 or more - Nothing mentioned or "Shipmaster" is or "the elites"
Or Arbiter would be in some parts of the cutscene, as he wasn't on SP.

Please can a mod delete this if it's wrong.

Thanks but I was wondering more if there is a set system of game rules for campaign or is it all just scripts built into the map? (Oh yes, I know that game types are scripts of a sort.)

There isn't any gametype system. All of the values are inherited from the map files. I don't see the point you're trying to get at with this question.

Which companies worked on Halo 3 during development?
was it Bungie & M$?
who made Halo 3 co-op?
